Volunteers are a valued extension of our team, helping support our students and teachers in the important work of educating our children.

Volunteer needs vary from school to school, ranging from field trip chaperones to one-on-one student assistance, and vision / hearing screenings to parent committees. How to Volunteer

To ensure the safety of our staff and students, we ask that all volunteers complete an application and background check that includes a search of the national criminal database, sex offender list, and terrorist watchlist. Once an account has been created and the application has been approved, you will be able to login and review volunteer opportunities at your selected schools. Volunteers must register and be approved prior to engaging in any volunteer activity. Once you are approved, an email will be sent to you notifying you of the approval and your user account information.

Volunteer Expectations

One of our goals is to maximize academic success for every child in a safe and orderly environment. To accomplish this, please be sure to be aware of the following guidelines when you are visiting and helping in the classroom:

1. We value our volunteers! Thank you for helping us shape the lives of our students!

2. All parents, visitors and volunteers must check in at the office during school hours. There are no exceptions to this. In case of a building evacuation or child security issue, we need to know who is in our building at all times.

3. Please limit the use of distractions cell phones may cause while in the classroom. We understand you may need to take a call or reply to an urgent text. Simply consider using the silent feature as you are in the rooms.

4. Younger children should not accompany you if you are staying in the classroom for any length of time during academic time.

5. Teachers are happy to discuss questions and concerns your have regarding your child. However, this needs to be accomplished during non-instructional time so that learning is not disrupted and you can have quality time to talk. By leaving a message on a teacher's voicemail or email, teachers can return your call and/or set-up a time to talk with you.

6. While in classrooms, you may observe unique behaviors of individual children. Please remember to respect the rights of each child and appreciate your sensitivity and considerations by not sharing stories about individual students in the community.
